Quality support, available for you and your family, right here in the NT, supported by the NDIS.
Behavioural intervention support is a service that helps individuals with disabilities who may exhibit behaviors that can be harmful to themselves or others, or impede their ability to fully participate in daily life. These behaviors are often referred to as “behaviors of concern.” Brighter Futures, an organization that serves the Darwin, Katherine, and Alice Springs regions, offers individualised behavioral support interventions through the use of Positive Behavior Support Plans (PBSPs). These plans are tailored to the specific needs of the individual and aim to reduce behaviors of concern while promoting pro-social behaviors and improving overall quality of life. With our support plans, there is no ‘one size fits all’.
The PBSPs are created in collaboration with the individual, their family, and other support networks, and are based on observations and best practices in behavior support. It’s important to note that behavioral support is different from therapy, therapy focuses on the individual themselves and is usually delivered as regularly scheduled one-on-one sessions with a practitioner.
